I am not interested in the debate, "To Allow Blog Comments or Not". You need to make that decision for your own blog, perhaps after considering the pros and cons of allowing comments.
But from a business perspective, I would be a fool if I don't make use of this feature to advance my business.
In my opinion, there's no need to completely disable the Blog Comments.
You can close the comment box for every post from your Post Editor - It's just one click away.
Offer Your Readers Perks
If you're the owner of an e-commerce website, a great way to generate leads is by offering your blog readers a chance to buy products at a discounted rate.
You can make use of the Unique Comment ID. Allow your readers to use that ID to avail discounts on your products. Comment ID is automatically generated when a user makes a comment on any blogging platform.
Blogger Code to show Comment ID:
<data:comment.id/>
But first make them subscribe to your email newsletter and write a review (comment) on a particular page of your choice to get their Perks ID or Discount code (Comment ID).
Mannually approve the comment...Savvy?
